Pacquiao vs. Bradley (1) who is the real winner?

Pacquiao vs. Bradley (1) who is the real winner?

After the controversial Pacquiao Marquez (3) which created more questions than answers, Pacquiao is in the news again this time after his controversial defeat via split decision over the new WBO welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley, to be honest this is the only fight of Pacquiao that I did not watch live because I somehow lost interest in the fight, but after hearing comments from my countryman, social networking and even the media, I was force to watch its replay and to make sure that I would miss a thing I set the video a little slower and here’s my observation.

First the two boxers are both gentleman and Bradley to my surprise is a worthy opponent for Pacquiao, now what really happen? Throughout the match Bradley is obviously the aggressor which is what exactly required when you are a challenger, but I would honestly say that Pacquiao landed the more telling Blows, and throw a lot more punches than Bradley.

Now what affected the judges vote, the two judges who voted 115-113 in favor of Bradley may have counted all Bradley punch when the two Boxers hold its other, and for Pacquiao his consistent pushing down of Bradley whenever the two boxers hold its other, apparently to avoid those accidental head butts which the Pacquiao team are so concern about, may not look pleasing to the two judges, in fact the referee always remind Pacquiao to refrain from using those “technique”.

But the team Pacquiao failed to realize that they are fighting an American boxer, in American soil, with three American judges and an American referee, plus an American promoter, with this condition Pacquiao and his team should have realized that the only way to win is to knock the challenger out which is actually doable if they prepared something like their preparation for bigger boxers like Dela Hoya, Cotto and Margarito, in these fight Pacquiao is clearly superior but in his last two fights fighting a smaller boxer seems to me don’t fit Pacquiao or shall I say he is not effective when fighting in these condition.

There are also other factors that affect the preparation of team Pacquiao the rift between his Trainer (Roach) and his conditioning coach (Ariza) is also a factor here how can you maximize a boxers potential when the two top men in your preparation are not even talking to one another? We should also take note that Pacquiao is now a congressman and Bible preacher which adds more to his distraction, how you can fight in the ring at the same time preach verses in the Bible, he may be worried all the time that he may have been violated his own preaching.

Now let’s go back to the question again who is the real winner? Both boxers are winner Bradley for his new Crown and unblemished record will surely increase his worth, for Pacquiao despite losing in the scorecards is still a winner with his guaranteed purse and pay per view share plus a possible rematch with Bradley which will surely surpass the first fight is also a reason for Pacquiao to smile this is like one step backward and two step forward, you lose but you gain more.

But who is the real winner? The Americans although divided in opinion are winners here for hosting such an event, the media for having hot items to write, the Filipino’s, as again it is almost zero crime in the Philippines during the fight, and of course everybody else know him Mr. Bob Arum the boxing kingpin who will be the most benefitted person in this controversy.
