Lessons in Article Writing

Lessons in Writing

(This lesson was e-mailed to me by my Facebook friend Ronald Deveau)

This is one of the biggest mistakes that beginners, and very many experienced article writers make. It causes too much delay in their article writing process for no reason.

Either, they take too long trying to make their articles look good or they do not write at all because they think that they are not good enough.

Here is the only goal of your articles; to make people click on your link. Your readers do not care whether your articles are especially well-written. However, they do have to be factual and provide good information.

Any facts that are not correct will make your readers not trust you, and if they don't trust you, then why would they click on a link that makes any additional promises?

That said, while your articles do not have to look like they were written by a professional journalist, they still cannot look too sloppy either.

Let me give you an example of an article that I read once;

"You have to use good keywords in eBay titles. I often see titles with LOOK in them, I mean, who types LOOK into a search box?"

I teach in my coaching classes to make your articles conversational, however, that is a little too conversational.

I would reword that sentence into something a little less clumsy looking;

"When selecting keywords for your eBay titles, consider words that people are likely to search for. For instance, some people use the word "look" in their titles. A buyer searching for a specific product on eBay is unlikely to search for the word "look"."

In this example we are making our point in a friendly, unpretentious tone, but we look far more professional.

I hope this will help you to understand the importance of being straightforward and simple. Now please, begin writing with confidence.

Until next lesson,

Graphics Can Hurt Your Online Business

5 Ways Graphics Can Hurt Your Online Business

A web with no graphics would be a bit like chili without the seasoning! Graphics, photos and clip art are to your website as spices are to your cooking – enhancing the experiencing and leaving you with a more memorable experience.

However, just as food can be too spicy, there can be too many images on the page ruining the experience, so you’ll need to find a happy, medium. Too many images can actually turn visitors away. So what type of graphics will harm more than help your website? Glad you asked. Let’s have a look at 5 ways graphics can hurt your online business.

Too Large

When images are too large they can be too slow to load and they can also take away from the text. The purpose of the image is usually to help convey an idea relating to the content. When the image takes up too much of the screen, the visitor can be distracted missing the purpose of the site.

Inappropriate

When your website is a business design, you need to focus on the content of your pages and the overall message they project. You need to ensure the images you use are appropriate and reflect your business values correctly. If you do not present your image appropriately to the audience you are targeting it could be more detrimental than helpful.

Poor Quality Images

Using images that are unclear, fuzzy, poorly centered or amateur in other ways will be reflected in the assumption your business is also amateurish. No images are better than poor quality images.

Illegal Images

There are a lot of creative images on the Internet and you might do a right click and save without thinking much about it. The problem is that if you use these images on your website and you may find yourself facing copyright infringement. Use only those images that are royalty free unless you have permission to use others.

Ignoring the Use of the ALT Tag

Many people ignore the ALT tags, not realizing just how important it is. The alt tag is like a free sign to your website. Without the use of the ALT tag, your website is at a disadvantage for visitors and you will also be non-compliant when it comes to web standards.

Knowing how graphics can hurt your website as well as help your website will help you to build your website in a manner that keeps your visitors interested in what your website has to offer.

How to Monetize your Blog and Website thru HopAd

HopAd Builder

If you own a website, forum, or blog, the ClickBank HopAd Builder™ is one of the quickest and easiest ways to make money from your site’s traffic.

What is the HopAd Builder?

You’ve probably seen many websites that include text ads somewhere on each page, advertising products related to the topic of the website. These types of ads have been around for years and can make a little bit of money for sites that get a lot of traffic, but the site owner typically only makes a few pennies for each time someone clicks on one of their ads.
ClickBank’s HopAd Builder changes all that by making these ads very lucrative. This is because when a visitor to your site clicks on a HopAd and buys the ClickBank product it promotes, you get the full affiliate referral credit for the sale— up to 75%, depending on the product! This can quickly add up to major profits. Best of all, HopAds can easily be tailored to fit the look and content of your site.

How it Works

To use the HopAd Builder, first you’ll need a ClickBank account. Once you’re logged in to your account, go to Account Settings->HopAd Builder.
From here, you can create one of two types of advertisements: a simple Text Ad box, or a Tabbed Ad Box.
Text ad boxes come in a variety of popular layouts, or you can completely customize the size of the box, as well as the font, colors, and more. This is a great option if your website focuses on a specific topic, so you can show highly relevant ads to your site visitors. The text ad box also allows for more detailed product descriptions than the tabbed ad box.
The tabbed ad box allows you to promote multiple product types from the same ad space, with each on its own tab. This is a good option if your website covers a range of different topics, or if you prefer to show a broader range of ClickBank products.

Once you decide which type of ad box to create for your site, just click Get Started and follow the instructions, adding your ClickBank nickname, keywords related to your site’s content so we can match relevant products to your site, an optional Tracking ID, and then set the visual options to make the ad box match your site.
Click here to see a variety of ad boxes using different layouts, colors and topics.
Once you’re happy with the ad box, we’ll give you the HTML code you need to copy and paste into to your website. There are two types of code we can generate for you. If you’re not an expert at CSS styling, we recommend using the default IFRAME option. As soon as you insert the code wherever you’d like the ads to appear on your site, your ads will begin showing immediately. You can start earning commissions right away!
To test your HopAds and make sure you’ll receive the affiliate commissions for sales, take the following steps:
  1. Implement the ad source code on your website.
  2. Click one of the ads.
  3. Click the Buy Now button on the vendor’s website.
  4. Once you have landed on the ClickBank Order Form, look at the bottom of the page for the referring affiliate information. It should match your ClickBank nickname, as shown below.

If the referring affiliate information and your Clickbank nickname matches, then you can now concentracte on Blogging and improving your site to create more traffic to your site, remember more traffic means more clicks and more clicks means better chance of making a sale, that is what we call "The Law of Average"

The Role of Graphics in Your Online Business

The Role of Graphics in Your Online Business

If you are going to run an online business graphics are essential. Whatever type of business activities you are doing online, advertising, or running an online storefront, your business will be presented to countless international customers. Your online businesses success or failure is significantly influenced based on the graphics you choose to use on your website.

When you use professional graphics on your website your site look more professional, just as when you use low quality graphics it can have a negative effect. Rather than using blurry or other graphics that are simply not good, don’t use any at all. Visitors will judge your website by the quality of the graphics whether you like it or not – it’s just the way it is. Save money elsewhere and keep your budget for quality graphics – it’s worth every penny! If you look like an amateur you’ll be treated like one – people are leery about dealing with amateur companies.

For a graphic to be most effective, it will clearly express your brand and the public will quickly come to associate that graphic with your company. Consider the famous McDonald’s M, the Blackberry dots, or the Nike swoosh. Branding is as important to your business as working capital.

When branding is done right, there is no question about which the graphic belongs to. The value of that initial investment will carry you years into the future when done correctly. Your company will not reap the benefits immediately, but they will over time as that graphic becomes recognizable you will begin to enjoy the full value.

This applies in traditional business and it applies on your website business. Online there are tons of similar sites and so the sooner you are able to create brand recognition through graphic recognition (branding), so give this task the full attention it deserves.

The role of graphics expands even further. Graphics are a powerful tool in increasing sales. There are many studies that have been done showing how top quality graphics that are placed properly on the website and with the text appropriately placed will enjoy a significant increase in the length of time visitors remain on your site.

Graphics are very important to your online business. A graphic designer can be a very valuable person to have working on your website and most times worth the cost. If you aren’t aware of the full benefits of high quality graphics on your website, it’s a good idea to spend a little time reading more on just how your graphic choices can affect the success of your online business.

Quality Graphics and your Business

Quality Graphics and Your Business

Whether your business offers products and services offline or online, high quality graphics can play an important role. You’ve heard it time and time again, “a picture’s worth a thousand words,” and that’s true when you opt for high quality graphics.

Let’s first look at offline businesses. How often do you see products that don’t offer some time of graphic packaging designed to help sell the product, and it works? Consumer testing has shown that if you have two identical items – one with plain packaging and one with catchy quality graphics – the latter will sell.

Can you imagine going to the store to buy a bottle of orange juice and all that was on the packaging were the words “orange juice.” Would you buy this orange juice or would you choose the one right beside that looked professionally packaged with colourful graphic components that were attractive and appealing to the appetite?

The automobile industry, communication industry, and food industry all know how important quality graphics attached to their products are. If the auto industry could sell cars with plain sheets of paper with just the vehicle facts, do you really think they would go to the cost of printing those enticing color brochures? They provide them because they work.

The examples are endless but you get the idea. The power of quality graphics is even more evident online. Anyone can sell online as long as they have a computer and an internet connection. As a result, there has been an explosion of online businesses and a highly competitive market has evolved. Making sales online is not as simple as one might think.

There’s the high level of competition, the uneasiness that still exists by consumers, and perception, which all affect whether a visitor decides to complete a purchase. When your website is perceived as a safe place to shop visitors will buy. The use of graphics can help to achieve that feeling, and quality graphics will also entice visitors creating a positive buying experience.

Graphic design is critical to the success of your online and offline business. As a result, you should leave it to the professionals to create the perfect images for your business, and the placement of those images. Whatever you do, don’t assume that a little bit of clip art or just any image will do the job. Thousands upon thousands of businesses before you have failed because of this one little mistake. Don’t let your business become a statistic.

Ampatuan massacre becomes global rallying cry for journalists

Posted at 11/23/2011 1:22 AM | Updated as of 11/23/2011 12:57 PM

MANILA, Philippines -- On the second anniversary of the brutal Ampatuan massacre, journalists worldwide have also marked November 23, 2011 as the first International Day to End Impunity.
Fifty-eight people, including 32 journalists, were killed in the town of Ampatuan in Maguindanao province in Mindanao, Philippines on November 23, two years ago.
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) said it wants the anniversary to be a day of remembrance for all journalists killed worldwide to raise awareness about the scandal of impunity and the failure of governments to bring killers to justice.
Efforts must also be made to find ways to make journalism safer, the group said.
"This global event provides us with an opportunity to denounce the prevailing culture of impunity for crime committed against journalists in many countries of the world and call for its end," the IFJ said in a statement.
Various events are being held worldwide on Wednesday to highlight the issue.
The International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX) has also launched a Facebook page and a website to spread the word on the event.
"The day will be a platform... to demand that journalists' killers do not go free, and to ensure that our colleagues working in countries with continuous and rampant impunity feel that their work is valued and their life is treasured," the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said.
According to the CPJ's 2011 Impunity Index, Iraq once again ranked the highest in terms of unsolved murders (92) in the past 10 years.
Somalia and the Philippines joined Iraq at the top of the index.

Pease watch related video.

"Impunity is a key indicator in assessing levels of press freedom and free expression in nations worldwide," said the CPJ.
Efforts are being made in the fight against impunity, according to journalists.
In the Philippines, "the counter-impunity campaign involves initiatives to reform the problematic criminal justice system," the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR) said. This includes amending the penal code to modifying the government's witness protection program.
The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines is also leading local efforts in fighting apathy toward impunity.
"I do think our best chance of [combating impunity] is by working together with our partners on the ground, and not giving up our struggle. Concerted international advocacy works," IFJ Asia-Pacific's Jacqui Park said.

This Article was published by Jojo Malig @ ABS.CBN.com and reposting it in my blog to show my support to all the victims of this gruesome record breaking murder, an ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES exclusive.

Use Web Graphics on your Website

Using Web Graphics on Your Website to Maximize Your Business

More and more webmasters are recognizing the value of using graphics on their websites to maximize business. That’s because using the right graphics can improve the appearance of the site and motivate a visitor to act. Using web graphics on your site is a smart business move.
The graphics you opt in combination with the text you utilize will present the flavour for your site. It will give your website its own personality, its own look and feel. It can be, serious, fun, or warm and inviting. When graphics are used right you can stand out from the competition. But before going graphic crazy there are some things you need to know.
The graphics you place on your web page should serve a function. If they are just there because they look cool take them off.  There is no question that there are thousands of cool and impressive graphics but unless they serve a purpose there’s no value to putting them on your site.
There are a number of different types of graphics you can use on your website. Navigation buttons are used to help your visitor comfortably move around your site. They should be easy to read and you can include a small image. Your logo identifies you, and people begin to remember it over time. It gives you brand name recognition.
Background images can add visual appeal to a website but they can be bothersome if you aren’t careful used.  There is nothing worse than trying to read text on a graphic that almost makes it invisible. Visitors are very quick to hit the back button if it makes their eyes hurt.
Title graphics called mastheads, are a good way to get recognition for your site. Use something unique that will stick in the minds of visitors.
Photos are popular on websites because they can make a page friendly and inviting. If you plan to use photos on your website you should optimize them for the web otherwise your pages will load slow and people will become impatient and leave before it ever loads.
For a professional looking page match your fonts on all navigation buttons. Your graphic images should match your website colors and typefaces. Your web page should be no more than 60k so if it’s larger than that either optimizes your graphics or remove some of them.
Graphics are used to improve website functionality.  Don’t place graphics on your site unless they have a purpose. When adding graphics you always must balance their usefulness against the loss in speed for your page to load.
Using web graphics on your website makes good business sense so why not give it a try?

The Right Blogging Platform for your Needs

The Right Blogging Platform For Your Needs

Choosing which blogging platform to use is one of the most important decisions that you can make as a blogger. The right platform can make blogging a breeze, and the wrong platform can make blogging a chore. Because the program that you use to blog with is such a powerful part of your blogging experience, it is well worth putting in the time to find a platform that provides your ideal balance between a user-friendly interface and a flexible framework that allows you to make your blog look and feel unique. Finding the right platform isn't always easy, but with a little bit of contemplation and a little bit of research, you will be on your way to finding the perfect blogging platform.

Deciding what your priorities are in terms of ease of use versus customization. Most highly customizable blogging platforms, like moveable type, are a bit more difficult to use than much automated platforms like word press. If you are new to blogs and to internet technology, you might want to sacrifice the ability to create a custom background design or to integrate a unique font into your template in order to find a program that will be easy for you to use. On the other hand, if you are a veteran web designer with knowledge of html or java script, you will probably find the limitations of a user-friendly platform to be frustrating.

There is no such thing as a blogging platform that is objectively the best platform, because every blogger has unique needs. The blogging movement is very much about individuality, so it makes plenty of sense that there would be many different platforms available that are designed to meet the needs of different kinds of individuals undertaking different kinds of projects. This diversity is a good thing, because it means that you will almost certainly be able to find a program that suits your level of technical aptitude.

However, the fact that no two bloggers need the same thing from a blogging platform can make your search for the right platform a bit tricky. When you are reading reviews of different platforms, try to keep your priorities in mind and do your best to take into account the position that the reviewer is coming from. For example, a negative review written by an accomplished software designer who complains that a popular platform is too limited may tell you that the platform in question is ideal for a beginning blogger. There is no such thing as the perfect platform for everybody, so instead of looking for the "best" platform, look for the best platform for your specific criteria.

The Advantage of Video Blogging

The Advantage of Video Blogging

Video blogging has a lot of advantages over text-based blogging, and it is little wonder that this new technology is catching on all over the globe. Video blogs very effectively grab the attention of web surfers, and people are much more likely to become excited about the dynamic content of a video blog than they are likely to find a written posting very thrilling. The more enthusiastic viewers are about a site, the quicker the word of mouth spreads, and the more traffic the site will get.

Of course, there are plenty of disadvantages to video blogging as well. Hosting a v-blog requires quite a bit of server space, which can make it difficult to get started. It takes more time to process and upload a video file than it does to dash off a quick bit of text, which means that running and updating a video blog can be quite a bit of work. In addition, web surfers sometimes grow frustrated with the slow loading times of the files on many video blogs. Whether you opt for a video blog or not depends on what kind of subject matter you want to cover, and how much time you can devote to video blogging. Before you decide to pursue a video blog, consider if there is an easier way for you to get your message across.

How to Make Money Blogging

 How to Make Money Blogging

There are two major types of business models that entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The firsthand most common way to turn a blog into a profit making machine is to sell advertising to different companies and brands who want to reach that blog's readers. The second kind of money making blog is one that helps a single brand improve its image by creating positive associations between the blog and the product in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen mind for marketing.

If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising, there are two basic ways that you can go about recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site; you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue. Within the first group, many people make money blogging by selling space through Google's AdSense program. The advantages of this program are numerous, as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most people discover that they make less money through this method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.

Selling advertising directly to companies who want to put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative. If you have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route. People who have a strong background in sales and are experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit of money by renting blog space to interested companies. The most serious problem with this model is that you often have to build quite a sizable readership before you can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to do several months of work before you start to make money blogging.

As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative business, a lot of established companies are considering how they can get into the action. One way that companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for their corporation. Often, a company will employ an established blogger to create a weblog designed specifically to appeal to that company's customers and to create positive associations with the brand in consumers' minds. More than one writer who never even dreamed that he or she could make money blogging has been approached by a company and offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig.

Pacquiao Marquez III who is the real winner?

Pacquiao Marquez III who is the real winner?

The trilogy of Pacquiao Marquez designed to clear things out between these two great fighters created more question than answers on who is the better fighter between these two future boxing Hall of Fame.

Who is the real winner here?

I watch the fight in its live telecast and repeated it later in the delayed telecast, and I will share my observation regarding this 3rd Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight.

Marquez clearly won in rounds 2, 5, 7 and 8 while round 6 is about even

Pacquiao on the other hand won in rounds 1, 3, 4, and rounds 9, 10, 11, 12

This only means that if the fight is for 8 rounds Marquez would have won unanimously and if the fight is for 10 rounds it could have been a draw!

So Marquez is really winning until the 8th round in fact no less than Freddie Roach the celebrated coach are constantly reminding Pacquiao that Marquez is ahead in the scorecards, really for the first 8th round Pacquiao performance is mediocre, I say this because I have watch Pacquiao since his first fight and I really see the potential in him except for this fights first eight rounds.

But Pacquiao always the versatile fighter manage to increase the tempo in the ninth round and started to regain his old rhythm, at this time Marquez knowing that he is ahead, started to backpedal hoping to maintain his lead just by counterpunching in the later rounds, but this strategy backfires as the judges probably awarded the later rounds to Pacquiao for being the more aggressive , so in short had Marquez stick to his game plan that obviously caught the team Pacquiao by surprise, he could have won the fight, for the first time in this trilogy Pacquiao was reduce to counterpunching in the early rounds, the strategy they prepared and expected for this fight.

So who is the real winner?

For this 3rd fight Pacquiao in my opinion manage to snatch the victory in the later rounds with a score of 115 – 113, the crucial point of the fight  is in the last two rounds where Marquez performance is declining and Pacquiao iron will to win prevail.

To sum it up, if Pacquiao will fight say Mayweather with this kind of performance he will be annihilated, but that is another story. Now let’s go back to the question.

Who is the real winner?

Marquez is a winner here with $5 million guaranteed plus share in the pay per view and for lasting the distance, he defied  all the predictions of his being knockout in this fight, and giving all Pacquiao fans the scare of their life.

The Mexican people are also winners here because of Marquez courageous stand.

The boxing fans for getting what they want.

Pacquiao of course for successfully defending his WBO welterweight title and $20 million plus share in the pay per view.

The Filipino people because just like in the previous Pacquiao fights, Crime rate in the Philippines is almost zero and traffic is clear in all roads of the country the Philippines is almost in a stand still whenever Pacquiao fights (Although this fight divided the Filipino’s opinion)

Yes even Filipinos who usually rooted for Pacquiao are now questioning the decision of the judges, in fact in the facebook survey of one TV network in the Philippines more than 500 believe that Pacquiao won the fight while a surprising 700 plus believe that Marquez should have won the fight, and these are even bolstered by two Filipino boxing analyst, and for these Marquez is again a winner

Coach Nacho Berinstain is also a winner here over Freddie Roach, here in the battle of two celebrated coach Berinstain manage to full one against Roach, they were clearly outplayed this time.

The Americans are winners just for hosting this event is a sure winner!

Who are the losers?

Filipino gamblers and bettors, the probable reason why a lot of Filipino are dismayed with the way Manny wins is because every time Pacquiao fights a lot of Filipino became fortune Teller of sorts they boldly predict Marquez fall some in 6th round  others in the 8th and so on, because of this fake fortune tellers, a lot of Filipino bet in the outcome of the fight guided by these predictions, in short some gave a handicap bet of a knockout, meaning if Marquez could last the distance just like what happened, a bet with Marquez will win, and a bet with Pacquiao loses, in fact some even bet that if Marquez could withstand Pacquiao for 6 rounds, a Marquez bet automatically wins regardless of the final outcome.

Most Boxing analyst are also losers in this fight, in fact in the pre fight analysis of the Filipino boxing analyst almost all of them except one predicted a Pacquiao win by knockout, and these probably was the guide of most Filipino bettors when they place their bet.

Freddie Roach is also a loser here, predicting that Marquez will go down midway of the fight he obviously miscalculated the Mexican warrior and caught flatfooted in this fight.

Back to the question again, who is the real winner here?

In my opinion, it is of course BOB ARUM!!

Blogging for Profit

Blogging for Profit Begins With a Long Term Plan

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this is not far beyond the reach of someone with average Intelligence, willingness to work hard, and basic grasp of blogging technology. However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you. However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isn’t easy. As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blog rolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so don’t skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

Good luck and Happy Blogging!

Blogging Tips

This is a five part series on how to Maximise your Blogging
If you are Already Blogging, Money May be Just a Click Away

If you already spend a fair amount of time blogging, money may come to you literally as soon as you ask for it. Once you have an established blog with a regular readership, it is easy to turn a profit through advertising. By hosting sponsored links or banners, you can see income from your hobby almost overnight. Even if you did not start your blog intending to turn a profit, making supplementary income from your blog may be easier than you think.

Of course, even for people who have spent months or years blogging, money from advertising revenue may not add up to a large sum. The amount of money that you can make as a blogger depends on a lot of different factors, but perhaps the most important element of the equation is the topic of your blog. If your blog is on a subject that appeals to a demographic that advertisers have a strong desire to reach, you will be more likely to be able to turn a large profit on your blog than if your blog is on a fairly obscure subject that does not draw the kind of audience that advertisers need to appeal to.

Of course, the only way to find out where you fall on this spectrum is to try hosting some ads. If you are already blogging, you have nothing to lose.  So go ahead try it might be fun to earn money from your passion!

My next topic will be " Blogging for Profit "

Back-Up Power How important to Online Contracting?

Online Contracting/Marketing essentials, when I surveyed some of my fellow Online Contractors, I was surprised that a lot of them, does not have or did not even consider owning a back-up power or Portable Generator, I realize the importance of this thing when our country was hit by successive typhoons that resulted to massive brownouts in our province for two weeks! Yes it happens in the Philippines, when typhoons “Pedring” and “Quiel” visit our country this year.

The importance of this unit was pronounced when I have a good paying online contract to provide article for my clients site, the pay is $3/ hour unlimited as long as I provide quality content for their site they don’t mind how many hours I consume for every article as long as I deliver it regularly, now comes the typhoons and brownouts, since my employer is an European Company they terminated my contract when I fail to submit their articles on time, they would not believe my explanation later about the typhoons and brownouts, of course it was also my fault, I relied too much in our electric company provider. When I bought one for my backup power later the price is merely P6, 500.00 pesos or about $150 and this amount can be earned in one week with these contract.

Every online contractor or marketer should have a back-up power for emergencies, even those portable generator set with 1,000 watts capacity is more than enough to spare you from employers termination, just like what happen to me. So when you have multi contract like most contractors you should purchase one for your own good, this unit has a lot of use, like in camping out of town family affair, picnics or even in outdoor business and location trips, you may be surprised how useful it is when you have one.

When to buy this thing? This is available to some electrical shop or hardware, if you are budget conscious, I browse some e-commerce site like e-bay and I was surprised that they did not have this thing, so this could be a tip for e-buyers to consider including this in their line of products, I found lot of this in ShopZilla an Online store just like e-bay of course the prize defends on your requirement.

So avoid learning the hard way, get your own power back-up, to be more efficient and reliable in our craft. Happy Contracting!!

This inspiring story that was posted in Pinoy Freelancer, an organization of Filipino Online contractor where I am also a member was so inspiring and an indication that indeed Filipino's are the top choice of employers when it comes to online contractors.

How did she do it?

Time management and passion for the job is the common element when doing online jobs, just like in any other job, you need to enjoy what you are doing for you to be productive in any undertaking.

While others are probably earning more, I admire Riza for her courage and intention to inspire other starting and struggling Online Contractor, this is another quality of a Filipino finding time to help or inspire others despite her hectic schedule and workload.

Job well done Riza!! Every Filipino are proud of you!

Turning Old Into Gold on e-Bay

Turning Old Into Gold On EBay

Ever wondered what to do with the ‘junk’ in your attic or the garage? Many a times you feel that you can’t part with much of this stuff, since you feel it will be beneficial one day. Well, think of eBay. At eBay you can find all sorts of articles, old and new, for sale. With this idea you can now start a small business, converting all this junk into a capital! Never mind the shape or age of your stuff. Somewhere among the millions of buyers at eBay, someone will find your stuff important.

To start the eBay business, you will first need to make an inventory of all the things in your garage, your bedroom, kitchen and attic. The garage could be filled with many articles including books, old electronics goods, trophies and so on. Make a list of all these articles and keep them ready for sale. If you have big articles like machines, which might be cumbersome to sell at eBay, then you can conduct garage sale. Here, you can invite neighbors and other people, who might be interested in your stuff. Let them come and check and buy what they want. Then for those things, which can be shipped, take photos of them and hit eBay for your sale! Don’t ignore anything. I mean anything. Even a knife that is found useless in the kitchen can earn you an extra dollar.

But, you should keep in mind that you are entering into a serious business that can bring you good money and not just pocket change. You should therefore not treat eBay, as if it is a hobby. It should be part of your income-generating project. And for it to be successful, you need to come with a good business plan. You should start with making a list of all the articles that you want to sell at eBay and then place a base price for them. If you go for the auction option, then you can earn more. But the base price should be there just in case you don’t get many bids.

And since it will be your eBay business, you don’t have to keep on selling your stuff. You can start here and now. Very soon, you must move out and ask for people willing to sell their items. You will find many, who will thankfully give you those items, which they didn’t know what to do with them. You can visit the Flee market to collect more items that can be sold at eBay. But, you should not pay more for such items. If you do, you might end up in losses, if you don’t find worthy buyers to purchase them.

Selling at eBay can be expensive, if not well planned and so you should find ways of reducing the expenses. The ways of delivering the items and collecting them from seller should be well planned. Lastly, at eBay you may get someone paying huge amount for your item. This is good, but remember it doesn’t always happen. Be contented with what you get. But, it should not be less either to make your business glide down.

How to take your eBay Business a step further

How To Take Your EBay Business A Step Further

There is a saying, ‘mind your own business’. This will also apply with the eBay business. Being in a business, you will always think of making profits. This should be the case too with eBay business. You are dealing with selling products, which might not always get buyers. So, you need to think, how much to pay if you are buying and what rate to sell them to make enough profits after deducting all other expenses. But, focusing to make profits is not the only thing to think of these days. You should know how to take your business a step further. In other words, you should change with the times. There is much advancement in the business world, especially in ebusiness and you should grasp the opportunities they offer for a better business of your own.

For example, there is now the concept of Google’s AdSense program. This is a program that allows you to place your eBay mini store products online and the search engines will make it easy for the visitors to find your e-shop with ease, since the search will be directed to the most fresh and relevant products. So, with AdSense sites, getting close to target customers becomes easy. You can also apply the Build a Niche Store tool, which will help you get the data of all the relevant searches made. This is much easier than other ways of grabbing this data, which you can place on your site to direct more traffic to your site. Programmers can do that with ease, but since all may not have this knowledge, then using eBay’s RSS feed generator will be another option. This is where you get all the relevant search results from your custom searches and converting it to HTML to place it on your site.

Another sure way of reaching your market is by being automatically listed. This can be done with the use of Build a Niche Store (BANS) software. This software is easy to use. Installation will be equally easy. So, you don’t have to worry about programming languages and so on. Once you install BANS, you are now supposed to activate your eBay mini store by filling the necessary details on the set up page including the category name and number of the products you want to list. After the BANS get activated, it will keep on getting the latest listings on the product and will be placed on your eBay store. It also keeps on updating the store, so that people can know that something is happening regularly and that your site is not a dead one.

Your business is not going places with all these ads on, but this is not all. Having customers go to the eBay site, and your call to make more money even without selling is just great. It’s more like AdSense concept. Lastly, remember eBay is not about how big your business is, but how focused you will be to get people to your site. The top secret here is to be focused and your business will take a step further.

Top Reasons Why e-Bay is The choice of most sellers

Top Reasons Why eBay Is The First Choice Of Most Sellers

Ever since eBay revolutionized and pioneered the concept of online auction in 1995, business enterprises as well as individuals have been increasingly availing of this novel platform for both selling and buying purposes. Millions of items are listed and merchandise worth billions of dollars is sold annually through its massive online service.  No wonder, over the years, eBay has emerged as the first choice of most sellers. After all, you don't spend a fortune for selling your items through its user-friendly online service.

The following reasons have contributed to the emergence of eBay as the favored choice of the majority of sellers:

Make a small start from your home: Instead of straightway opening up a full store, you can start off by selling a few things at auction first and learn how the whole process works. Later on, you can start with one store and see how the prospective buyers respond.

Free trial: It does not cost you anything to just start your eBay store. There are no store fees for the first thirty days. At any point during this trial period, if you feel you have taken a wrong step you can opt out without paying any money.

Wider choices: Once you have decided to start your eBay store, you don't have to invest a huge amount of money in the very beginning. You have the choice of three levels of stores starting at as low as $9.95 per month. Even such a low basic subscription allows you to feature your entire inventory.  Moreover, you can go on to cross-promote from your auction items. This can be done by listing more items from your store at the bottom of the auction items. Just feel free to display there any items of your choice. Such images would be linked to your store.

Do away with a huge staff: With all the business transacted on your personal computer, you don't need a huge sales staff. You will not have to face the crowd of invading customers with their usual hustle and bustle. A small number of dispatch and shipment staff would be working quietly without causing much disturbance to you.

In the footsteps of Power Sellers: The Power Sellers are highly successful eBay sellers in terms of sales and customer satisfaction. They are a good source of inspiration for you. Learn how to make your own presentation by closely studying their stores. To start learning the rope, you can as well make a couple of purchases from them to find out how this user-friendly online business is handled.

Go for earning extra money: eBay is as much for established business enterprises as for ordinary individuals like you and me. You may have things in your home and you have been thinking of disposing them. Don't just dispose them, but earn some extra money by selling them the eBay way. You will need to spend much less time by selling them on eBay.

Honestly, there is any number of reasons possible, why eBay is gaining popularity among sellers across the country.
